Two packages of rhubarb seeds on a bed of dried rhubarb leaves.

These rhubarb seeds come from Annapolis Valley rhubarb plants grown by Rilla’s grandparents in Paradise, NS. This rhubarb produces pinkish-to-red stalks with dark green leaves. It is perfect for cooking, pies, and cobblers.

Minimum of 35 seeds per packet.

Shipping is only available within Canada. Free pick-up is available in Halifax, NS.

 

Planting Instructions

Perennial. Zones 3-8. Sunny.

Rhubarb is cold hardy and drought tolerant.

Sow seeds 2cm deep indoors in early April and transplant outside mid-late May (after the last frost). Or sow directly outdoors in mid-late May. The optimal soil temperature is 16 - 25 Celsius.

Do not harvest during the first year of growth. Cut flower stocks as they appear. The plant can be harvested for many years to come!
